Exploring the Jungle Within:
Conscious connection through movement, stillness & the wild terrain of self
May 10 - 16, 2026
This is a one of a kind retreat of Ashtanga Yoga, relational practice, and inner exploration in Costa Rica.
There is a wildness inside you that no system, story, or spiritual practice can fully contain. You don’t need fixing. You don’t need the perfect posture or a purified mind. You need space—to move, to breathe, to be seen, to remember.
This is not a retreat to become someone , this is a retreat to un-become!

The Location
Tierra de los Sueños, Playa Chiquita, Costa Rica
Tierra de los Sueños sits between the pristine Costa Rican beaches of Playa Chiquita and spectacular rainforest. Playa Chiquita is the best of two worlds, a stone’s throw away from the lively Puerto Viejo scene yet far enough away to enjoy a peaceful sanctuary where all you hear are the beautiful sounds of the jungle and local community. Across the road from the bungalows there is a nature trail that takes you directly to the stunning Playa Chiquita with reefs for snorkling, palm trees, and, depending on the time of year, either waves for surfing or calm waters for swimming. With it’s ‘tranquilo’ vibe, friendly people and lush tropical surroundings people easily fall in love with this place.

The Practise
Grounded in Practice
Through the steady rhythm of Ashtanga Yoga, we return to the breath, the body, and that innate intelligent aliveness whose voice whispers wisdom beneath the surface.
Through conscious connection, we step into the vulnerable and beautiful terrain of being with others in truth and presence.
Through Sanskrit mantra, we enter the ancient resonance of timeless enchantment and wonder.
Through stillness and self-inquiry, we listen—to ourselves, to the jungle, to the silence between words.
This is a space where you can take off your armour, stop performing, and come to what’s alive, real, and now.
We’ll move together, sit together, chant, laugh, reflect, and explore the magnificence and mystery of life as it arises—within and without.
Not to escape it, but to meet it as it is.

Luke Jordan is a Certified Teacher in the Ashtanga Yoga tradition and holds a Masters degree in Indian Religions. He is a writer, story-teller, vedic-chanter, sanskritist and consummate student of yogic and spiritual culture.
Always feeling that there was something more to life, Luke first began formal study of Eastern mysticism in the 1990s while at University and plunged headlong into the practice of Ashtanga Yoga in the year 2000. This began an on-going journey that would take him around the world seeking out experts, gurus and teachers in the field of Yoga and spirituality.
Luke first made his way to Mysore, India in 2001 to study with Sri Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath and is one of a very small number of teachers worldwide to have been granted the honour of Certification within the Ashtanga tradition.
Drawn to the deeper philosophical dimensions of Yoga, Luke loves to share the inquiry that springs from the chants, myths and conceptual underpinnings which form Yoga’s wider tradition.

The Accommodation
Tierra de los Sueños
Each bungalow has a different theme expressed in the hand carved wood, tile mosaics, painted murals, and artistic details. All constructed in tradition with zinc roofs, open-air screens, wooden walls, and floors.
Staying at Tierra de los Sueños means being close to nature, sleeping to the sounds of the jungle, and probably relaxing in the hammock on your front porch. You will be able to observe heliconias, gingers, sloths, hummingbirds, toucans and more. It’s truly a jungle experience!
There is also an inviting central lodge, a comfortable hardwood yoga deck, and infrared sauna (at a small fee), and traditional rancho gathering space.
All meals are vegetarian and freshly prepared by local chefs with locally sourced ingredients, mostly from organic suppliers to nourish both your body & soul.
